How to add multiple homepages to Firefox
As we all know having a homepage is an excellent way to be more efficient if the website you constantly visit loads instantly when the browser fires up.
But you have a dilemma if you visit more than one page very often and would like to visit these when the browwser opens. There is a simple way to defeat this problem and it can save you lots and lots of time if you would like more thna one homepage.
If you are using Firefox Do these steps:
- Press Tools
- Press Options
- Navigate to the “Main” tab.
- Find the text bar that tells you what your current homepage is and change it to whatever you want the first homepage to be.
- To have another homepage put a “|” inbetween the previous homepage and the next homepage.
- Keep using step 5 until you have all the homepages you want.
- Press OK and you will now have the homepages that you inputted.

Most Computers nowadays come with a free trial for an Anti Virus program (mine came with Norton) but these eventually run out and what do you do when they do. Your personal information could be at risk when these trials run out or your computer might get a virus. For protection from this I suggest you get an Anti Virus package. Now there are some ones you can buy but some of these offer the same or even sometimes less protection than a free Anti Virus. I suggest Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic. Gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
Do you need to edit that photo to cut out a part you don’t want? Do you want to add a caption to a picture? If so you need a program called GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). It is a graphics editor with lots and lots of built in features. It has a lovely interface and is open-source so it is in constant development. The file format support ranges from the common likes of JPEG (JFIF), GIF, PNG, TIFF to special use formats such as the multi-resolution and multi-color-depth Windows icon files. Outlook express using too much system resources? Outlook express being slow and unresponsive? You need a new mail client. You need Thunderbird with its fast and easy to use interface this makes reading your e-mails that much easier. You can even import your contacts from Outlook Express if you need to. OpenOffice.org
OpenOffice is a free equivalent to Microsoft Office. It has all the features that Microsoft Office has and many more. OpenOffice is very good because it is constantly in development and big updates usually happen about once per month. Filezilla is a free ftp program with all the features you would expect from a FTP program. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a very ingenious way of transferring small or large files between computers or between your home computer to web-servers. I use this program to put all my images onto the server that my website is run off. It is constantly in development and has a very easy to use interface. Trillian
If you like socialising with people over the internet and have many accounts like Yahoo Messenger, MSN messenger, AIM, ICQ and IRC then this program combines all of these into one small program. You can be signed into all of the above with only one program running. This program is called Trillian and it is made by Cerulean Studios. It is not open-source but it is in development all the time to add more protocols to it. There is a pro version but it doesn’t offer that many more features than the free one. To conclude this blog article I will show you a program that takes blog reading to the extreme. This program is called Feedreader and as you can probably guess by the name it lets you read feeds. For those who don’t know what feeds are they are a data format used for providing users with frequently updated content. This program makes blog reading very easy because you can view all the blogs recent posts in one easy to use interface. Their is also an option for you to read multiple blogs at your leisure.
